About Abbott Northwestern Wound Clinic
Abbott Northwestern Hospital Wound Care Clinic is a hospital-based wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy center located on the fourth floor of Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Operated by Allina Health, it is one of only a few facilities in Minnesota offering hyperbaric oxygen therapy and serves patients with complex, chronic, and non-healing wounds. The clinic uses three clear acrylic chambers where patients receive 100% oxygen at increased pressure. Sessions run approximately 90 minutes per day, five days a week, for an average of six weeks — though the duration varies based on condition. All chambers are monitored closely by certified hyperbaric physicians and supervisors. Patients can watch TV or nap during treatment. Conditions treated include diabetic foot wounds, chronic bone infections (osteomyelitis), compromised skin grafts and surgical incisions, radiation damage to soft tissue and bone, and complex non-healing wounds. The program is closely integrated with the hospital's vascular and podiatry departments. The clinic is open Monday through Friday and accepts most major insurance plans as part of the Allina Health network. Contact 612-863-3110 for appointments. A physician referral is typically required for the hyperbaric program.
