Bayhealth's Wound Care Center offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) as a treatment option to speed up the healing process for certain wounds and tissue injuries. HBOT involves breathing 100% oxygen in a pressurized chamber, which helps the body heal itself by reducing swelling, improving circulation, and stimulating the growth of new cells in damaged tissue. This therapy is effective for diabetic ulcers, radiation burns, and other types of wounds. During treatment, patients relax in a transparent chamber and can nap, listen to music, or watch TV.
