About Hyperbaric Medicine
The Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hyperbaric Medicine department provides hyperbaric oxygen therapy for conditions like radiation therapy tissue damage, slow-healing wounds, chronic bone infections, and compromised skin grafts or flaps. The center is staffed by trained hyperbaric physicians and nurses. They also offer services for idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss and other UHMS-approved conditions. The therapy involves lying in a pressurized tank filled with 100% oxygen and is generally painless, though patients might feel ear pressure.
