About Hyperbaric Medicine Service
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a medical treatment that enhances the body's natural healing process by delivering increased oxygen to injured tissues. It involves breathing 100% pure oxygen inside a pressurized chamber, which significantly increases the amount of oxygen in the bloodstream. This "super oxygenated" blood is then delivered to tissues throughout the body to help heal wounds, fight off infection, decrease swelling, and aid in the growth of new blood vessels. HBOT can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including wounds or burns that are slow to heal, diabetic foot ulcers, surgical wounds that have not healed, skin grafts that are not healing, and wounds caused by radiation therapy.
