About Hyperbaric Oxygen
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy as part of its comprehensive wound care program. This noninvasive treatment involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber, increasing the amount of oxygen in the blood to promote faster healing, especially for infected wounds. Ohio State offers central Ohio's only Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy with access 24 hours a day, seven days per week. The therapy is often used in combination with other treatments, such as microsurgery and skin grafts.
