The Conway Regional Wound Healing Center offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy as a painless method to accelerate the body's healing process. During a session, patients breathe 100% oxygen within a pressurized chamber, which allows red blood cells to pass more easily through the plasma into wounds, healing them from the inside out. The center boasts an 89% success rate in healing wounds within 16 weeks. Patients can relax during the 90-minute to two-hour sessions by listening to music or watching movies. The center is equipped to handle unique and complex wounds that have resisted traditional treatments. Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, and other private insurance plans typically cover most treatments. Conway Regional has partnered with Healogics to provide wound care services to the Faulkner County area since 2008. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is suitable for treating conditions such as diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, compromised skin grafts and flaps, and other wounds that haven't healed within 30 days. The center also offers other advanced treatments, including debridement, bio-engineered tissue substitutes, negative pressure therapy, and compression therapy. The Wound Healing Center was created to offer wound care, which was recognized as a community need.
