The Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy as part of a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to treating non-healing wounds. During hyperbaric oxygen therapy, patients breathe 100% oxygen inside a pressurized chamber, which increases the concentration of oxygen in the bloodstream and delivers it to the wound area to promote faster healing. This therapy can help reduce swelling, fight infection, build new blood vessels, and ultimately produce healthy tissue. The center's multidisciplinary team includes physicians, nurses, and staff who provide advanced wound care treatments.
