Henry Ford Health offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) at multiple locations. HBOT involves breathing 100% oxygen in a pressurized chamber to speed up the healing process. The atmospheric pressure in the HBOT chamber is increased to 2.4 times greater than normal. This therapy is effective for treating chronic wounds like diabetic ulcers, skin and bone infections, burns, and radiation damage. Henry Ford has offered HBOT since 1988, with experienced doctors and technicians providing the treatment. They use individual-person oxygen chambers at some locations.
