About Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
The Mid-West Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, has been providing care for non-healing wounds since 1986. The center offers two hyperbaric oxygen chambers to promote maximum healing. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a safe and effective method to promote healing by increasing the amount of oxygen that reaches all the cells in the body, stimulating the growth of new cells. During the painless therapy, patients relax in a transparent, cylindrical chamber, where they can watch television, enjoy a movie, or sleep. They can also communicate with a nurse throughout the treatment.
